COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
COFFEE, ROASTED, GROUND, HIGH EXTRACTION
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
1. SCOPE.
1.1 This Commercial Item Description (CID) covers high extraction roast, ground coffee, packed in commercially acceptable containers, suitable for use by the Federal Government.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.
2.1 Ingredients: The high extraction roasted ground coffee shall be made of 100 percent pure coffee. The high extraction roasted ground coffee shall be a blend of Brads, Colombian Excelso, and Milds (other than Colombian Excelso). A maximum allowance of 10 percent Robustas is permitted. No additives, extenders, or flavor enhancers are permitted.
2.2 Finished product:
2.2.1 Flavor and aroma: The high extraction roasted ground coffee shall have excellent flavor and aroma.
